Due to budgets cuts, the Shelter Program often finds ourselves cutting the amount of money we spend on our youth for activities such as going to the zoo, bowling, and the movies. We are meeting our residents’ basic and immediate needs when they first arrive at shelter and during the duration of their stay. However, activities that we do with our youth are very important to their well being as well. An average stay in shelter is a little over a month and some youth stay in our care for up to five months. The Shelter Program is always in need of new and gently used clothing. During the summer months our youth really enjoy outside activities such as rollerblading, fishing, bicycling, and skateboarding. Your donations will allow us to not only provide appropriate services to our youth but also allow them to enjoy many activities; which youth not placed in shelter generally have the comfort of enjoying.
